AWWOD - March Information

2024 AWWOD Anzac Day March details.

  • AWWOD members need to form up on KIng Street near Castlereagh Street by 10:30am RSL March Map (where AWWOD is part of group number 53). Look for our banner..

  • There will be no membership fees taken on the day. Refer AWWOD Anzac Day Notice
  • At this stage no Jeeps are available for March Participants. However, Wheelchairs are permitted with one person/carer pushing an AWWOD Member. Please note that Walkers are NOT permitted.
  • ** IMPORTANT ** As per the RSL March rules only one family member per veteran allowed to march on the day. Veteran's medals or copies of their medals MUST be worn and veterans medals MUST not be divided up.
  • During March, be aware of placing hand over hearts and turning eyes towards the ANZAC Memorial in Elisabeth Street as it is passed. Gents, please remove hats and place them over your heart also at this time.
  • During March, always step off on left foot after any stops.

  • General Information Regarding Marching with us in the Sydney RSL ANZAC Day March

    • You need to be a financial member of our association to march with us.
    • You need to have a relevant set of original or copy medals
    • Medals are to be worn on the right breast. Copy medals are allowed if originals are framed. (Note: Public Transport to the march is free for anyone wearing medals). No photographs are permitted to be carried.
    • March Dress: Business Attire (no joggers or jeans) – Suit, Pants/Skirt & Jacket/Blazer & Tie for the gentlemen please with comfortable walking shoes. NB: Children may wear school uniform or service club uniform eg: cubs, guides, brownies, scouts, girls/boys brigade etc.
    • Children: Minimum age to march is 10 yrs (unattended). Parent/guardian must be present at beginning and end of the march.
